App overview and first-time setup guide.
Houwow.app is a web app for recording and managing hanafuda match scores. It supports in-person hanafuda play with automatic score calculation, rankings, circle management, and more.
What You Can Do

Record and auto-calculate scores by month during in-person hanafuda games. Supports 4 official rules — Koi-Koi, Hanawase, Inobota-Chūshin, and Hachihachi — plus custom rules.

Group your hanafuda friends together and share circle rankings and session history.

Compete in national, circle, and friend rankings.

Create your own rulesets and publish them for others to use.

How to Log In
Open Login Page
Click the "Login" button in the header to open the login page.
Choose Login Method
Select from the following two methods:
Login Methods
・Google Account
Click "Sign in with Google" to get started immediately. This is the easiest method.
・Email / Password
Create an account by entering your email address and password.
No Login Required to Play
You can create and join sessions without logging in. In that case, an anonymous account is automatically created in the background. See the "What Login Enables" guide for details.
First-Time Setup
After creating an account, a setup screen is displayed. Follow these steps to configure your initial settings:
Welcome Screen
A welcome screen is displayed. Click "Next" to proceed to setup, or "Skip" to go straight to the dashboard.
Profile
Enter your display name. This is the name shown to other users.
Settings
Configure the following:
Settings Can Be Changed Anytime
These settings can be changed at any time from the Settings page in the header.

Access the following pages from the header:
After logging in, you also get access to the "Dashboard" (match history, stats, friends, badges, my rules), "Circle" management, and the "Settings" page (profile, security, account management).
Linking an Anonymous Account
If you created or joined a session without logging in, an anonymous account was automatically created. You can link it to an account later to keep all your records.
Open Dashboard
Look for the warning banner at the top of the screen.
Link Account
Click the "Link Account" button to connect your new account. All records from the anonymous account will be transferred.
